Why is no one talking about Tagged.com? | ||
|
According to Nielsen Online, (opens new window) the latest information indicates that Facebook is the #1 site with the most time spent on it followed by MySpace, Blogger, Tagged and Twitter.
I'm sure you've heard all the buzz about how Twitter is the next "Big" thing (if it isn't already), Facebook and MySpace are slugging it out for the title of the #1 social network, and Blogger, owned by Google, is a gigantic blog network which a lot of blogs appear on. That then leaves us with Tagged. Why is no one talking about them? I created an account only after one of my friends insistance and it felt almost identical to MySpace. A bit of a wonky user experience, and jittery page loads. After replying to the friend request and seeing how the site worked, I started to get a ton of people who wanted to meet me. Of course, after reading my profile they were all young 20-something women with nothing better to do than advertise their web-cam services. Hmm... Getting past that, there were ads for everything you can imagine on the site, just like MySpace and so the banner blinders were instantly activated. Considering that my experience on the site would be that of a typical user fresh to the site, I never imagined that Tagged.com could wind up as the fourth most visited site within the social space? Yes, I've heard all the spam issues and shady virus planting methods, but if people are using it, isn't it worth mentioning? My question is, how come SEO's haven't exploited this yet? Or why isn't a site that could *potentially* send prospects and traffic to a client side not be talked about more frequently on the seo forums? I don't have the answer, I'm just sayin...
